Extension Services Coordinator

Employment Type: Permanent Full-time

Salary Range: $35.164 – 44.064 Hourly ($68,264.56 – 85,542.08 annually)

Grade: SGEU 11

SaskMilk is a producer-elected marketing board representing Saskatchewan’s dairy farmers. We are responsible for a number of activities including the purchase of producer milk for the transportation and sale to processors, enforcement of producer facility and quality standards, and managing farm milk production levels.

Reporting to the Provincial Dairy Specialist, the Extension Services Coordinator is responsible for providing extension and research support to the dairy industry.

Areas of responsibility include:

  • Transfer research results and extension knowledge to the industry;
  • Maintain and grow relationships with University personnel, agricultural researchers and industry service providers;
  • Share oversight responsibilities for Rayner Dairy Research Centre with University personnel;
  • Regularly contribute to SaskMilk’s communications vehicles such as the Newsletter,

Annual Report, Manger’s Report, and Board briefings;

  • Assist in proAction program implementation and maintenance; and
  • Represent the organization at meetings with other organizations and groups as required.

This position will be based in Saskatoon but will require travel both within and outside of the province and working outside of normal office hours.

The successful candidate will require a strong knowledge of the dairy industry and dairy management, experience in applied research and extension, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

These qualifications are typically obtained through a BSc in Agriculture or equivalent Degree and a minimum of three years’ experience with an agricultural organization or service provider, dairy field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Must be registered with, or eligible for registration with, the Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists.
